What’s New: Blasting Off Into the New Year

The Ingredients Are Loaded, the Stove Is Hot…Lajollacooks4u is Hitting It Big Into the New Year!

It seems like just yesterday we were banging pots and pans to ring in the New Year. Now we’re already into February and it seems as if we’ve simply skyrocketed through time! Before time blows past us again, we’d like to give some special shout outs to the groups that helped us jump start 2015! Only one week into the new year and Lajollacooks4u opened up their doors for a special occasion between big-name companies, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Qualcomm. IMG_5215The licensing and technology department of San Diego’s very own “quality communications” company, Qualcomm, met up with the financial advisers of PricewaterhouseCoopers at Lajollacooks4u. IMG_5225The big corporate get-together was meant to allow the two groups to meet and mingle–and what better way to establish those goals and  than to cook, drink and dine together. IMG_5227 The group prepared a mouthwatering tapas menu: Pepperoni and Wild Mushroom Pizza Rolls, a Grilled Flank Steak with Horseradish Sauce, Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Pancetta and Parmesan, and Chocolate Melting Cakes for dessert. IMG_5073The guests had a wonderful time, participating in playful cooking competitions and then reconvening at the dining table. IMG_5240Owen Murray of PwC was thrilled by the event, and shared with Chef Jodi that this was an “an amazing meal. The food was top notch” and Chef Jodi’s “home is a great venue for a team event. And her team is professional, fun and client service-oriented” We are so flattered by his kind remarks. IMG_5232Just as soon as Chef Jodi and her team cleaned up the kitchen from the PwC/Qualcomm event, a sweet foodie couple arrived for a special birthday celebration! Virginie and her partner, Pam, arrived all the way from New York to celebrate Pam’s special birthday. IMG_5246The couple prepared a delicious menu with Chef Jodi, including such dishes as a Beef Tenderloin with a Mustard Seed Crust and Brandy Sauce, Vermicelli Rice Pilaf and an Apple Tartan. IMG_5249Virginie, a charming French woman, was particularly impressed with the Chef Jodi’s Apple Tartan, declaring it to be just as delicious as any of the tartans she had from France! As for the rest of the month? Chef Jodi is jet-set again, traveling and cooking her away through the global food scene. When she returns, she’ll have a plateful of wonderful stories to share with friends of Lajollacooks4u!
